Grupos de dispositivos para mais segurança

Da mesma forma que os dispositivos, gases, vapores e poeira são divididos em diversos grupos, de acordo com suas propriedades. Essa divisão facilita a seleção certa de dispositivos para os diversos gases, vapores e poeiras.

Até o padrão EN 60079 0:2009 ser introduzido, os dispositivos permitidos nas zonas perigosas eram divididos em dois grupos. Desde sua entrada em vigor, tornaram-se três: os grupos 1, 2 e 3.

Divisão dos grupos de dispositivos

  • Grupo I: Dispositivos para minas suscetíveis a gases inflamáveis.
  • Grupo II: Dispositivos para uso em áreas sujeitas à explosão de gás (não de minas)
  • Grupo III: Dispositivos para uso em áreas com poeira inflamável (não de minas)

Os dispositivos elétricos do Grupo II são também subdivididos nos Grupos IIA, IIB e IIC, dependendo do tipo de atmosfera sujeita à explosão. Essa atribuição afeta o tipo de proteção contra ignição do encapsulamento à prova de pressão (Ex d) e intrinsecamente seguros (Ex i).

Dispositivos para áreas com poeira inflamável também são subdivididos nos seguintes grupos, dependendo do tipo de poeira:

  • Fiapo inflamável
  • Poeira não condutiva
  • Poeira condutiva
