“You can only optimize what you measure.” The WAGO IoT Gateway for infrastructure automation was designed according to this principle.

Sensors capture production data from the system, transmit it to the WAGO IoT Gateway for pre-processing, and then provide it to the IT network or the cloud for analysis and process optimization. Based on the WAGO I/O system, the solution guarantees compatibility with a wide range of field signals from various industries, with up to 500 different I/O modules currently available. The gateways feature multi-communication lines, allowing them to simultaneously connect with higher-level systems and cloud architectures through up to four parallel lines.

Production Monitoring

Significant savings and production quality improvements are possible, but only if you have transparency about your systems. With a scalable modular system from WAGO, an intelligent monitoring system can be inexpensively retrofitted to a system and tailored to the customer’s needs. This allows digitization of existing systems in brownfield projects. Data on production quantities, rejects, idle times and maintenance times is collected quickly and made available on the network through open IT interfaces.

Error messages can also be passed directly to a built-in HTML5 visualization using any Internet browser and sent as SMS or email notifications. The operator can then quickly access the system remotely in the event of problems.

Digitalization of Critical Assets

Pumps are essential across all industries, playing a critical role in production processes regardless of the sector. They drive production flows and require constant monitoring.

Intelligent pump monitoring is the basis for condition-based maintenance, offering significant savings potential and ensuring system reliability. Pumps in brownfield projects can also be digitized using WAGO’s prefabricated starter distribution boxes with an IP54 protection rating. Data for preventive diagnostics, analysis, and process optimization is processed and prepared directly within the gateway for remote access. System-specific functions are customized in the CODESYS development environment and visualized in HTML5.

Markets demand increasingly customized products, which must be developed in R&D departments. Quality assurance and documentation requirements are also increasing the levels of automation and digitalization in laboratories. Different user groups need targeted access to specific laboratory information through the network, and measurement data must be directly integrated into the documentation from a data logger.
