Connecting Single Pair Ethernet with WINSTA® MINI

ETHERNET connections are increasingly standardizing communication at the field level in buildings and in industry. With the WAGO WINSTA® MINI Series 890 connector, single-pair Ethernet (SPE) cables can now also be connected easily and without tools using the WINSTA® connector system. Regardless of whether this involves the digitalization of building control systems or the connection of sensors in industrial automation - the tool-free, fast and secure connection is guaranteed.

Your advantages with the WAGO WINSTA® MINI 890 Series connector:

  • Expansion of application options with the WINSTA® connector system

  • Simple and tool-free connection of SPE cables for fast ETHERNET connections over long distances

  • Uncomplicated retrofitting in existing installations

Easily Connecting a Single Pair Ethernet Connection with WINSTA®

In many applications, Single Pair Ethernet is the perfect solution for the physical layer. It supports high-speed ETHERNET connections over long distances using only a single wire pair. This saves space and reduces weight in applications while conserving resources. WAGO's 890 Series WINSTA® MINI Pluggable Connectors are tested according to IEC 63171 (Category A) and provide a Single Pair Ethernet connection with exceptionally easy connection.

How does it work?

Just trim the conductor to the appropriate length, strip the insulation, insert the end into the WINSTA® MINI Pluggable Connector, and it's ready to go. Plugging the pluggable connection system together locks the conductor in securely, establishing the Single Pair Ethernet connection – no tools required. For especially easy detection, the SPE connectors are color-coded in pink.

Easy Retrofitting with WINSTA® Single Pair Ethernet Connections

The WAGO WINSTA® MINI Pluggable Connectors (890 Series) offer an especially easy option for retrofitting Single Pair Ethernet connections in existing installations. For example, building controls for roller shutters or doors, as well as sensors in industrial automation technology, can be connected quickly and reliably without tools. This is very practical for making easy digitalization possible during renovations.

WAGO is part of the Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance (SPESA)

As an innovative technology, Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) has gained significant importance in the electrical trade and the industrial automation sector in recent years. As a proud member of the SPESA, WAGO and other technology companies are committed to spreading SPE solutions to different markets in order to jointly create a brand standard.

The advantages of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE):

  • Simplified cabling: SPE allows data and current to be transmitted via the same cable pair. This means: Less cable clutter and more space in tight control cabinets.
  • Fast communication in industry: The technology enables efficient communication between devices, sensors and actuators, especially in industrial automation.
  • Future-proof installation: The flexibility of SPE enables us to meet the ever-increasing demands on data transmission speeds and network infrastructure.
