Configuration, Control and Monitoring for a Large Number of Channels

WAGO Electronic Circuit Breakers (ECBs), Now with Communication Interface

The Benefits for You

  •  Configuration, control and monitoring via integrated communication interface

  • Integration of electronic circuit breakers on the controller side to support high system availability

  • Efficient load management, even for high currents up to 16 A in parallel connection

Six new products are joining WAGO’s selection of ECBs. Our 4- and 8-channel electronic circuit breakers will soon come equipped with a communication interface. These devices allow a choice among IO-Link, Modbus RTU and Manchester protocol for configuration, control and monitoring. Combining them with a controller makes it possible to read out current values, adjust tripping thresholds, configure behavior in limiting ranges, set an individual pre-warning and switch and reset channels individually. For example, if a value reaches a pre-specified threshold, the electronic fuse can signal the limit load and act promptly to provide controlled reduction of the current consumption. In the event of overload or short circuit, the affected circuits are interrupted quickly and reliably. Therefore, active use of the electronic circuit breakers significantly increases system availability. WAGO’s 3861, 3664 and 3668 Series ECBs support all areas of mechanical engineering, in the process and manufacturing industries and in buildings, as well as in elevators and lifts. In both the 4- and 8-channel variants, a slim 32 mm wide design makes replacement easy, requiring no additional space and allowing very flexible use. The pluggable connectors are also protected against mismating and support pre-wiring, which reduces installation time significantly.
