Connect LED Modules – Simple and Fast

New Board-to-Board Link for the WAGO Series 2065 SMD PCB Terminal Blocks

The important points in the lighting industry where PCB connection is concerned? Saving time, money and space! Now the Board-to-Board Link for WAGO Series 2065 SMD PCB Terminal Blocks makes this possible. This makes connecting LED modules even faster and easier – compared to classic wiring methods. Furthermore, the combination of terminal block and board-to-board link saves plenty of space on the PCB.

Your Benefits:

  • Simple LED module connections

  • Save time over manual wiring

  • Two different lengths to fit required clearances and creepage distances

  • Space-saving combination of terminal block and board-to-board link

Product Overview

The Board-to-Board Link for Series 2065 SMD PCB Terminal Blocks

The board-to-board link has a cross section of 0.75 mm2 (0.0011 inch2), i.e., a diameter of 1 mm (0.039 inch). To fit the requirements for clearances and creepage distances, the metal pin is available in two different lengths: 15.6 and 17.6 mm (0.61 and 0.69 inch).

Benefit from the simple, fast and space-saving combination of terminal block and board-to-board link. Because the Series 2065 SMD PCB Terminal Block has no housing, it is extremely compact and minimizes shadowing. Nonetheless, it has a high connection capacity, with a cross section range of 0.2 to 0.75 mm⊃2 (0.0003–0.0011 in⊃2) for solid and fine-stranded conductors. If rigid enough, solid conductors can be directly inserted, while terminating fine-stranded conductors by using an operating tool is simplicity itself. Now LED modules populated with this terminal block can be connected to each other with the appropriate board-to board link – and connected easily, quickly and securely.

Connecting LED Modules – This is How It Works

Connecting, fixing and separating LED modules: The simple, secure method using the Board-to-Board Link for Series 2065 SMD PCB Terminal Blocks is explained in three steps:

1. Connecting LED Modules

Insert the board-to-board links into the terminal blocks to be connected on an LED module. Position the PCBs to be connected facing each other on a flat surface. Then push the PCBs together axially – and the LED modules are already connected.

2. Fixing LED Modules

To ensure a secure connection, the LED modules must also be fixed in the respective application; for example, with screws. This attachment must be made within a maximum distance of 20 mm (0.788 inch) behind the terminal block to reduce movements; e.g., due to temperature fluctuations.

3. Separating LED Modules

If it becomes necessary to separate the LED modules, just open the terminal blocks with an operating tool and pull apart the PCBs.
