Die IoT-Box ist eine komplett vorgefertigte Lösung, die mit minimalem Aufwand nachträglich an bestehende Maschinen und Anlagen angedockt werden kann, ohne den Produktionsprozess unterbrechen zu müssen. Aufgrund der offenen Automatisierungstechnik ist die IoT-Box universell einsetzbar und optimal geeignet, um unter anderem Ströme, Spannungen, Produktionszyklen und Anlagenzustände zu erfassen.
Für die Anbindung an die IT-Infrastruktur des Unternehmens stehen verschiedene Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung: per ETHERNET und WLAN oder komplett ortsunabhängig über das Mobilfunknetz. Hierbei sorgt nicht nur die Trennung von IT- und OT-Netzwerk für die notwendige Sicherheit, sondern weitere standardmäßig in den PFC-Controllern integrierte Maßnahmen wie TLS-Verschlüsselung oder VPN-Tunnel.
